London-based Sam Tompkins is making a name for himself with his unique style of 90s R&B mixed with modern beat production.

Citing influences from Ray Charles to Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ed Sheeran and Drake, it’s in his ability to sing-rap about some of life’s darker topics, on top of a sound bed of nostalgic yet seemingly fitting beats and melodies, that makes him such an impressive artist proposition.

Having performed alongside the likes of Krept & Konan, recorded with MNEK, gained attention from the likes of Bastille and had his original song “Chains” feature in the feature film “Brotherhood” – Tompkins has come a long way, and seemingly still has a lot left in him too.

On his latest single “Follow Suit”, Tompkins sing-raps about how “life can be so temporary, lost myself today it’s scary…” in a track that you can’t help but listen from start to finish.
